The Podzone Podcast: #18- 24/01/2007

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening. This is Dr Nick, bringing you another week's full of blog goodness. The Podzone, broadcast on the wonderful 24th of January in the year 2007, quite possibly had more Deacons than a meeting of the Church of England (though we are of course completely secular and do not condone any religion!)

For once, we have a real copy of all the show, and hence you have plenty to enjoy! The show mainly went as follows...
  • Introducing The Podzone's Pork Cookies! They're finger-porking good!
  • We discuss a "contentious issue." Go us!
  • The Podzone has promotional photos taken, by master photographer himself, Mr Dave Tyrrell!
  • Does Chris do a glottal stop? Cer'aintly not.
  • AOL- do not pass Go, do not collect £200.
  • Definition of Adam Curry
  • And all the features you're too happy with to hate, such as The Crucial Three, The Hit Test (ja), Nick's STDs, The Podosphere, Tech News Lite, and The Money are In!

Plus you have the opportunity to catch the first audio glimpse at the new promo for The Podzone Podcast! It's exciting stuff, and anyone who says it isn't will be hearing from my solicitors.

So just click on the link above for The Podzone podcast that was broadcasted on 24/01/2007- as per usual the show has been edited down to comply with Podcasting legislation, and to remove the parts where Liam Farrand beat us with a stick. Not the head!

So for now, Ladies and Gentlemen, I bid you adieu, and ta-ra!
From the beaten Dr Nick, on behalf of the BEEPing Chris Leydon.

PS - Sorry this was so late, our server's been playing up.

Podcast #17 - 17/01/2007

Afternoon, all! This is the Right Honourable Dr Nick, who has found his way back to the Blog after what seems like literally days. We just about managed to record fifty minutes of pure content for you on Wednesday, despite some severe technical problems, which WASN'T the result of Chris Leydon spontaneously combusting.

Unfortunately, the recording of all the features that you love to love no longer exists, and thus you've missed out. We're sorry. We're really sorry. But we do have the hour where we performed a military invasion of The Money. This was about as pure as Liam Farrand, and you will hear this:-

  • We read from the Daily Star! Once in a lifetime experience.
  • News about The Podzone Gets Personal, starring Tonto and Muhammad Ali!
  • Chris Leydon's General Ignorance- not stolen from QI. Honestly. As much as I would love to be, I am not Stephen Fry.
  • Test Chris Leydon, with some top London Underground information!
  • Chris doesn't do a birthday request.
  • Nick goes on about ITV... as per usual.
  • Emergency Podzone Possible Backup Content! Completely and utterly constitutional in the Emergency Situation!
  • And there are other Gods available.

So just click on the link above for The Podzone podcast that was broadcasted on 17/01/07- as per usual the show has been edited down to comply with Podcasting legislation, and to remove the beating of Chris Leydon with a stick.

So, for this week, ta-ra me ducks!

From the "calm in an emergency" Dr Nick, on behalf of the "cause of an emergency" Chris Leydon.

The Podzone Gets Personal: #01 - Tonto

You may remember that in some of the previous posts and Podcasts we might have mentioned the Vidcast that myself and my Podzone co-host Dr Nick Cooper have been working on for the past few weeks, otherwise known as The Podzone Gets Personal.

Well on Wednesday 10/01/2007 the Pilot episode was filmed with guest interviewee Tom Campbell from Youthcomm's "Thank Tonto It's Friday!" and over the past few days it has been circulating around certain circles and we have been debating whether to release it on the general public.

I'd like to point out that this is only a Pilot and the final series will not necessarily reflect this pilot episode. I can tell you that on reflection of watching the pilot that we are actually going to have some sort of set, and the camera work won't be as shaky.

Oh, one last thing before I post a link to download the video and embed a streaming flash version of it. The sound is out of synch during the intro and the outro but this shall be rectified when we launch the main series.

From Chris Leydon on behalf of himself and the hardly mentioned but always worthy Dr Nick.

The Podzone Podcast:: #16 - 10/01/2007

Hello Podzone lovers of the world.

Once again it is that time of the week, the time that Dr Nick would usually be here writing this post. "Why the hell isn't he?" I hear you ask, well the honest truth is that it's because I was feeling a little left out of The Podzone Online Blog community, and because of the fact that I can't get through to him to write the blog in the first place, go figure.

Now there were some problems in recording this podcast, and these problems were all Dr Nick's fault. I have tried my best to deliver a half decent podcast for you to listen to and hopefully I've managed to accomplish this. The main problem is that you've only got half of a show, because somebody forgot to rewind the MiniDisc... Either way there is a special message from myself at the end of the podcast so do listen on.

I'd like to point out at this time that we at The Podzone are very privileged as we are the first Podcast to be able to use the new "Youthcomm Podcasting" sweepers and jingles. Nothing to get too excited about I know but still, I love it.

Anyway moving on to what really matters... The Podzone Podcast for 10/01/2007. This particular podcast did include the following in no particular order...

  • The unveiling of Samuel Deacon's "Far Away" - and keep going...
  • Mysterious plans...
  • An Apple Tech News Lite Special
  • No DTMF Feature
  • Ding Dong's Court Summons - This has all been sorted out and The Podzone Online is now back up and running nice and smoothly!
  • iPod Problems
  • And some other stuff such as The Crucial Three (Songs 1 & 2 anyway) and all of the usual but much (sort of) loved features.
So there it is, I do hope that you will enjoy yourself. Now on behalf of the absent minded and delusional Dr Nick and by my equally insane self - I should like to say good bye to you but for various legal reasons I shall not...

eyB dooG!

Podcast #15 - 03/01/2007

Happy New Year to all you Podzoners! This is Dr Nick, wishing to inform you about an episode of The Podzone that took place on 03/01/2007. It quite possibly had more fireworks than Tenbury on January 1st.
The show had a complete relaunch, and so you may notice that most of the features you hated to love have been changed/amended/removed/added. The show mainly comprised:-

  • Tonto's emails! Quite possibly more entertaining than the rest of The Podzone put together.
  • Chris sailing too close to the wind. Not literally.
  • Chris being an honourable discharge… or just plain honourable.
  • Nick singing the theme tune to Bullseye!
  • Are Seeing Scarlet comparable to the Arctic Monkeys?
  • News on the OOTZ 30 video! I'm so excited, I have nothing to say.
  • A big Jagshemash to the almighty Ted Grizzell!
  • And all the new features such as Tech News Lite, The Podosphere, The Crucial Three (which is now all Podsafe and all chosen by us!); and the old favourites The Hit Test, The Money are In, Nick's STDs and The Ten Past Four Feature!

So just click on the rather cheap link above for The Podzone podcast that was broadcasted on 03/01/2007- as per usual the show has been edited down to comply with Podcasting legislation, and to remove the parts with Samuel Deacon. Not that there were any. Trust me, you will/won't enjoy it! (delete as applicable.)

So all that is left is to say ta-ra ducks!

From the impeccable Dr Nick, on behalf of the inebriated Mr Chris.
