Podcast #14 - 25/12/2006- The Podzone Christmas Special!

A Merry Christmas to all Podzoners! This is Ebenezer Scrooge himself, Dr Nick, writing the blog on Christmas Eve (at least here in the United Kingdom!) The Podzone is of course full of Christmas spirit and cheer!

The Podzone Christmas Special was, quite obviously, recorded in advance, purely for your amusement. It has been a busy week for us all- I have been in the beautiful capital city that is London, I have been given a conditional offer at Oxford University, and we have filmed the Out Of The Zone Video!

Anyway the twenty-seven minutes and thirteen seconds that follow have such amazing features such as the following:-

  • The first Hit Test done completely by voice! Incredible. BUT IT'S NOT BUZZCOCKS THE MIND NEVER!
  • Why are there no Pagan Podsafe tracks?
  • Discussion of Christmas, Santa being shot down, Santa's First Amendment rights and mince pies.
  • The Podzone single! All money donated to UNICEF! Or just donate the money to UNICEF yourself.
  • A special Christmas Nick's STDs!
  • The Beggar's Opera- only minus twelve days to go!
  • And some slightly anti-Catholic views from Nick (but there are other religions to have a go at available!)

So just click the link above to listen, because it's about as Christmassy as Sam Deacon with his baubles wrapped in tinsel! Not as per usual the show has not been edited down to comply with Podcasting legislation, as it was supposed to be a podcast only, but it will be on twice on Youthcomm Radio on Christmas Day! Check out Youthcomm's website for more details.

Merry Christmas, and ta-ra ducks!

The turkey-eating Dr Nick, on behalf of the turkey Chris Leydon.

Podcast #13 - 20/12/2006

Hello all, it's been a long time coming but we've been very busy with the next OOTZ Video (OOTZ 30), which funnily enough wasn't mentioned in this here Podzone for the 20th of December 2006 - Like how I did that there?

Anyway back to the point at hand. You are about to embark on the fantastic downloading experience that is The Podzone, this weeks podcast includes the (in)famous Sam Deacon (Kristina didn't know that she he was coming) and lots of other fascinating and wonderful events that I won't divulge too much information about simply because I can't be bothered.

So on that note I, Dr Nick Cooper Mr Chris Leydon on behalf of the great power that is Dr Nick's ego, would like to present the wonder that is The Podzone!!!

Podcast #12 - 06/12/2006

Good day, Podzoners across the world! This is the faithful Dr Nick wishing you a Happy New Month... well, it is December, isn't it! The Podzone continued in my absence on Wednesday 6th December, 2006- something which is totally constitutional. Youthcomm really missed me- in fact, I heard they held a celebration in my absence... wait a minute.....

Anyway, the wonderful Chris Leydon coped without me, and provided you all with almost a whole hour of content and fun! The show was more constitutional than the 2000 American Presidential election, and contained content that vaguely resembled the following:-

  • Nick's STDs! Live from Hereford railway station. Where I WASN'T fired.
  • The spots not being... spot-on. But hey ho, Chris dealt with it!
  • Incest insinuations. (The Podzone neither condemns nor condones incest.)
  • Chris not promoting companies such as iTunes.
  • The rules of The Crucial Three.
  • The Infamous Michael Jackson (and Dave Tyrrell loves Jacko!)
  • Big Seeing Scarlet news!
  • And all the features you love to enjoy such as Tech News, Traffic News (albeit on the spot), The Podsafe Music Chart, The Crucial Three (without Nick- what a shame...), The Hit Test, and The Money are In!

So just click on the link above for The Podzone podcast that was broadcasted on 06/12/2006 - as per usual the show has been edited down to comply with Podcasting legislation, and to remove the dawdling when I went into a railway tunnel and the phone line disconnected. Oops. Uhh I mean OOTZ.

And of course, we have the problem that no-one will be around next week, and then it's the recorded shows! But don't forget to check the blog and the website around Christmas Day for The Podzone's Christmas Podcast!

There we go. That's my bit done.

Ta-ra ducks!

From the absent Dr Nick, on behalf of the absent-minded Chris Leydon.

Podcast #11 - 29/11/2006

Good evening, my darlings. This is your regular... special friend, Dr Nick! The Podzone, as I'm sure you expected, came back to haunt us all on the 29th November in 2006. Youthcomm Radio was privileged to have it.

As per usual, there were some really interesting features. You may just want to listen to it, because it sounds better than a bugle-player playing a trombone made from paper. Anyway, you will be able to hear:-

  • It's Constitution Day! The Podzone's new Constitution is launched. N.B. I shall be putting this up for general release very soon.
  • The show introductions, with many people. Including Nick Cooper. And someone else....
  • Nick pleading the Fifth. Any American listeners should understand this. Hopefully.
  • Information on The Podzone's Christmas Specials!
  • Nick's been living Chris Leydon's life- and he doesn't like it.
  • Seeing Scarlet news... sort of.
  • Ooh ooh ooh OOTZ! Something any OOTZ fan will be interested in. Or fan(s), I should say.
  • How can we get Sam Deacon in for Christmas? Find out!
  • And all the features that are completely constitutional, such as The Money Are In, The Crucial Three, The Hit Test, Nick's STDs, Tech News, Traffic News (written by the great Dr Nick), and The Podsafe Music Chart!

Well I'm going to have to love you and leave you, as I won't be on the show next week (don't all boo at once...) I shall be in Cardiff, whose STD code is 029, whereas Coventry uses 024. Sorry for that little mistake. I also doubt I'll be on the week after. And then it's the two recorded shows.

So just click on the link above for The Podzone podcast that was broadcasted on 29/11/2006 - as per usual the show has been edited down to comply with Podcasting legislation, and to remove the scenes of a sexual nature. Not that there were any.

Ta-ra for now!

The chemically-minded Dr Nick, on behalf of the chemically-created Chris Leydon.

Podcast #10 - 22/11/2006

Evenin' all from your regular law enforcer Dr Nick! I wish to inform you of a terrible event. Yes, another episode of everyone's favourite entertainment drama, The Podzone, aired through Youthcomm Radio on the Twenty-Second of November in the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand and Six.

If you missed it, you missed some really classic features. It really was amazing- in fact it was hotter than a burnt piece of pasta on a George Foreman grill... And just to inform you, The Podzone had such wonderful features as:-

  • Chris and Nick performing synchronised speech. On several occasions.
  • The new Podzone backing track (which bears somewhat a relevance to the wonderful BBC News 24 music...)
  • Promotion of The Mix Live, The Money, DJ App, CHRIS FOX, Dave Tyrrell (wapow wapow!), Russell and Dorrell's, Debenhams, George Foreman grills, and the fact that we's all going down Mackie's later...
  • A car is stuck on the studio roof.
  • Nick speaks posh, without glottal stops.
  • New feature: The Money's Newspaper of the Week!
  • BBC News report: Leydon Dead. Then Leydon injured. Though neither are true.
  • Chris almosts committs contempt of court. But doesn't quite.
  • And all the features that you've grown accustomed to over the last 10 podcasts, including The Crucial Three, The Hit Test, Tech News, Traffic News, a rushed Nick's STDs, and The Podsafe Music Chart!

So just click on the link above for The Podzone podcast that was broadcasted on 22/11/2006 - as per usual the show has been edited down to comply with Podcasting legislation, and to remove the violence and swearing.

And that is all I have to say for tonight, so I shall virtually see all you lovely people next week.

Ta-ra ducks,

The bubbly Dr Nick, on behalf of the gassy Chris Leydon.

Podcast #09 - 15/11/2006

Heil Chris and Nick!

This is the irreverent, ironic and totally irrelevant Dr Nick here with all the information that you could possibly want that pertains to this weeks' boooooootiful podcast of The Podzone, that passed on the 15th November 2006. This week, the Podzone was a Podsafe music special edition, and this was one of the many firsts that occurred!

The Podzone this week was quite honestly taller than Youthcomm Towers placed on a giant's fingernail, and it mainly consisted of such booootiful content as:-

  • Meat you can place on a griddle.
  • The Podzone's new slogan- cutting off your musi....
  • Nick, or perhaps The Hit Test, scratching.
  • Discussion of pubs in Tenbury.
  • A new, fresh look on Nick's Subway/Metro/London Underground joke.
  • A really badly edited advert.
  • And of course, all the features you hate to hate such as The Crucial Podsafe Tracks, the Wyre Forest update, the Money's arrival, The Podsafe Music Chart Tech News, Seeing Scarlet update, Youthcomm Traffic News and Nick's STDs. I think that's all- I'm out of breath now!
  • Oh and I die.

So for all this and more, just aim your mouse and fire at the Podcast button located above! And I shall see you all, albeit virtually, next week! And we have, of course, edited down the podcast to... oh no we haven't! Because it's ALL Podsafe music! So we haven't even got rid of the bits where we go wrong! Of which there were many...

Ta-ra ducks,

The doctorate-holder Dr Nick, on behalf of the NVQ Level 1 in flower-arranging holder Chris.

P.S. A small language lesson...

When the verb "to speed" is in the past, the preterite is sped. However, due to the oddities of the English language, when the verb "to speed up" is in the past, the preterite is "speeded up". Sorted.

Podcast #08 - 08/11/2006

Hey it's Chris Leydon here on behalf of Dr Nick, who's become very busy as of late.

It's time for another podcast from The Podzone, albeit late... This is the third time that I've tried to write this now (damn Windows keeps crashing) so I'm going to keep it short to save my fingers.

This Podcast was recorded from Youthcomm Towers on Wednesday 8/11/2006. It included the usual features, such as the Hit Test, The PMC, Youthcomm 20-20 Traffic News, Tech News, The Crucial Three, Nick's STD's and I can't be assed to remember the rest. We also had some rather comical extras as well ut I'm in a bit of a rush and I really can't be assed to type all this up and re-listen to the podcast again.

So that's about it until next time,

Bye,

Chris Leydon.

This Podcast has been edited down to comply with Podcasting legislation (says he so that the lawyers will stop hassling him. If you have any complaints please email complaints@thepodzone.net where the complaint will be dealt with appropriately (into the spam folder).

The Podzone Highlights #01

Ah yes, when readership and listenership gets low, what do you do? Introduce a new aspect, something for people to get interested in.

Yes it's Chris Leydon here, the friednly overall supreme dictator of what is known as the world The Podzone. well as stated above it's the downer part of the week, the part of the week when nothing really interesting in the way of The Podzone really happens. Alright so one could argue that about this time during your week you're usually getting psyched up about Wednesday's live Podzone and then sometime there after (usually by Thursday) there's the Podcast but once the Podcast is up and you've listend to it 500 times you get a bit bummed because there's nothing to keep you ammused in the meantime.

Well please let me introduce you to "The Podzone Highlights" this'll probably be a monthly feature (so you'll still be a bit bummed out, but not as much when the month's up and it's time for the Highlights) and it basically is literally a 3 minute (or there abouts) Hightlights show of some of te previous Podcasts.

So please sit back, relax and enjoy The Podzone Highlights #01 - This highlight show consists of the two shows that we did with Mr Samuel Deacon back in October 2006 (Podcasts 6 & 5) I hope you enjoy it, and may it prosper within the future months to come.

Hopefully I'll speak to you on Wednesday, or failing that on Thursday but until then,

Bye.

From the Egotistical Swine Himself, Chris Leydon & of course the ever so Eager (to insult) Dr Nick.

Please Note that this Podcast has been edited to comply with Podcasting legislation and what have you. You may also like to note that Dr Nick IS NOT A REAL DOCTOR so please stop asking him to solve your erectile problems!

Podcast: #7- 01/11/2006

Good evening, God bless and Goodnight! I mean, hey. The Podzone was resurrected from the shallow grave in which it lives from Thursday until Tuesday, and so a wonderful episode took place on the First of November in the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand and Six. Of course, The Podzone is officially secular, though the UK does use the AD date system... anyway, that's not important.

Unfortunately, the Samster himself, Mr Sam Deacon was unable to be with us, due to prior engagements (though by engagement, I'm not accidentally revealing the secret that he and Kristina are getting married in Gretna on Saturday.) So, it's just Chris, and I- oh and the wonderful Adam Green, by whom I was so well introduced.

The show barely consisted of content, though the following did occasionally occur:-

  • Dr Nick gets locked out of the studio, and forgets the code.
  • Nick arrives late, because of the horrific traffic in Worcester City Centre. Chris has realised his dependency on Nick, and so Nick tops him up with the natural drug of Nickness!
  • Chris gets fed up with the Mystery Voice and offers £100 to anyone who gets it. Oh, except for Youthcomm personnel. And anyone connected to Youthcomm. And their families. Oh, that's all the listeners gone.
  • Chris does an impression of Steve Wright (though it isn't half as good as Nick's Ken Bruce impressions a fortnight ago.)
  • We will not play Agadoo. Not even for Chris' dad. Not for anyone. Save perhaps the Queen. Or former US President Gerald Ford. Or Gary Glitter- in fact, I haven't anything about him for years... you what? He did what, Chris? Right, that's it. I wouldn't play it for him.
  • Our new aim and purpose is to reunite The Jam. That's right. No, not the Honey. No, nor the Money.
  • And all the features you've been taught to love, such as The Hit Test, The Crucial Three, The Podsafe Music Chart, Nick's STDs, Tech News, Traffic News, and of course the Mystery Voice!

So click on the link above for The Podzone podcast that was broadcasted on 01/11/2006 - this show has been edited down to comply with Podcasting legislation, and to remove none of it, because it was so successful the first time that it was knighted by the Queen of Worcester. And you should listen, for it's more entertaining than a pantomime! What's that, Sam? Oh no it isn't!! Do be quiet.

Oh and I've forgotten to do all the web links. Here they are.

The Podzone's virtual cardboard box- newly refurbished, with stars made of old burger cartons and covered in wrapping from the popular sandwich shop, Metro/London Underground. Or The Podzone Online.

Youthcomm's Online Palace.

No Sam link this week. He doesn't deserve it. That be all.

Ta-ra ducks, from the radiant Dr Nick, on behalf of the radioactive Professor Chris.

Podcast: #6- 25/10/2006

And soon, you'll find the show notes here! - Or not...

Hey there, me hearties. Even if this post says it was posted by Chris, I'm sure you can tell from the extravangance and stupidity that it is actually everybody's favourite fraudulent psychiatrist, Dr Nick!

A wonderful... episode of The Podzone was held on the 25th October, again with our incredible guest Mr Samuel "the Samster" Deacon! The show mainly consisted of content such as the following:-

  • Promotion of the BT/BBC competition for the new voice of the "Speaking Clock"! I will be entering.
  • The truth behind the Youthcomm whale... and the new one being created live on air!
  • Discussion on how Chris has no shoes, and Dr Nick has no feet.
  • Sam admitting to attempted theft while at high school. Whoops.
  • Chris' inability to read most sheets without his glasses.
  • Sam's Maths Test: Part Two!
  • Is an Ipod male or female? If you do know, email ipodgender@thepodzone.net. Equally, if you don't care, email dontcare@thepodzone.net.
  • Nick singing the theme tune to The Bill.
  • And of course all the wonderful features that Chris forgets including the Podsafe Music Chart, The Hit Test, The Crucial Three with the notable/not able Muse, a very well-read Tech News, yet another week of the Mystery Voice, and this week's wonderfully random Nick's STDs with some interesting noises...

So click on the link above for The Podzone podcast that was broadcasted on 25/10/2006 - this show has been edited down to comply with Podcasting legislation, and to remove all of it, and just re-record some random phrases to give the impression that it is really unrehearsed, unplanned and unscripted. Trust me (I'm a doctor), this week's podcast is quite honestly more reliable than Timeline.

And what do you mean you don't know what Timeline is? Listen to the podcast to be enlightened!

And perhaps you may wish to go on the Internet for...

The Podzone virtual mansion! Or The Podzone Online, to keep Mr L happy.

Youthcomm Radio

And all the information you could possibly want about a certain film... please note that The Podzone are not responsible for external links. And with this website, we once again do not want to be associated with it. Seriously. Seriously.

So for this week, that be all.

Goodbye, ta-ra ducks, ta-ra swans!

From Dr Nick, perhaps on behalf of Sir Chris, and Peasant Sam.

Podcast: #5- 18/10/2006

Well hello there, me ducks. This is the wonderful Dr Nick here, with the equally wonderful, but totally unqualified Chris Leydon and Sam Deacon is somewhere....

Who be Sam Deacon, I hear you ask? Well I can't hear you, but so be it. Sam Deacon be our guest this week on The Podzone, and if you listen to the beautiful podcast, you will be able to hear him. He also brought a little, well quite large, friend along, namely his hair.

If you listen to this week's podcast, you will be quite honestly amazed with content quite as good as:-

  • Dr Nick's Ken Bruce impressions! Well worth it.
  • The Kristina says Noooooooooooooooo game (x2). Quite possibly a better game than the game I won't mention the name of, which involves buying houses in London.
  • Dave Tyrrell's computer noises.
  • Nick dancing like a decapitated chicken. Literally.
  • And which is better? Apple IPods, or Bananas and Pears? I think Nick will win this argument, because he has a rather large... mallet.
  • What's happened to Wyre Forest Anti Social Behaviour? It became Trippppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppple A! And Sam can't seem to understand that.
  • Plus all the features you love to love including the Podsafe Music Chart (oh... but we're missing the Number One); The Hit Test (which Nick and Sam can't get even though the answers are in front of them); The Crucial Three which gives a member of our wonderful listeners to choose three songs... oh hang on, the Dictator himself Mr Leydon has launched emergency powers and chosen it himself; Nick's STDs, which apparently I have many of; and Tech News. Enough said.

So listen to this week's podcast, which is quite possibly more reliable than the new chocolate windows introduced to Ten Downing Street, so that burglars won't hurt themselves when they break in.

So click on the link above for The Podzone podcast that was broadcasted on 18/10/2006 - this show has been edited down to comply with Podcasting legislation, and to remove the parts where we seriously go right, so we look truly unprofessional.

And if you're on the Internet anytime... oh hang on you must be- anyway visit any of the following websites:-

The Podzone Online

Youthcomm Radio

Deacon Search - please note that The Podzone are not responsible for external links. And with this website, we certainly do not want to be associated with it. Seriously.

Ta-ra ducks! Or ta-ra swan, if you're Sam.

From the vibrant Dr Nick, on behalf of the equally lively Mr Leydon, and the wonderfully apathetic Mr Deacon!

Podcast #04 - 04/10/2006

The Podcast Be Here! (best said in a country accent)
The Playlist Be Here! (again best said in a country accent)

Bonjour from le Docteur! You can tell I do A-Level French. Another podcast is here! Quite possibly more interesting than a brown envelope. And this week, you may just be able to hear:-
  • Chris saying "harsh", "it certainly is, Nick", "anyway" and "besides the point" A LOT.
  • Chris' rather interesting Hearing Test. I wonder who couldn't hear it.
  • New music for Nick's STDs...
  • And shameless promotion of pretty much every show on Youthcomm Radio.
  • Plus of course, the Mystery Voice (which goes really successfully...), the Hit Test, Nick's STDs, the Podsafe Music Chart, and Tech News!
So click on the link above is The Podzone podcast that was broadcasted on 04/10/2006 - this show has been edited down to comply with Podcasting legislation, and to remove the parts where we seriously go right, so we look truly unprofessional.

See you next week!

Ta-ra ducks, Dr Nick, plus Chris (who isn't in my room at the moment while I'm typing this, something about which I'm quite glad.)

Podcast: #3- 27/09/2006

Well hello there! This is everyone's favourite co-host, telephones expert and general moron Dr Nick Cooper!

The new podcast is finally here! Quite possibly more important than the Prime Minister in the Queen's clothes.

Some features that may be of general interest this week include:-

  • NEW!!! Nick's STDs! One new STD every week. Seriously.
  • Talk about the Pearl and Dean advertising music (though there are other cinema advertisers available, of course)
  • Some new, beautiful promos for the show, recorded by the wonderful Tonto. That'll be five quid, please.
  • What does 20/20 mean?
  • And of course, Tech News, Traffic News, The Podsafe Music Chart, The Hit Test, and the second week of the new Mystery Voice!

So click on the link above is The Podzone podcast that was broadcasted on 27/09/2006 - this show has been edited down to comply with Podcasting legislation, and to remove the parts where we seriously go wrong, so we look good.

And for the record, the cinema related music that is played is the 2006 remix, as stated by Chris. However, as this wasn't the one from the 1990s, when I mainly watched films, this is why I thought it was in the wrong key. So there.

For another week, ta-ra ducks!

The beautiful Nick, on behalf of the equally... nice Chris.

nick@thepodzone.net for me!

chris@thepodzone.net for anything serious.

Or just go on www.thepodzone.net for all the information you could possibly need!

Podcast: #02 - 20/09/2006

The new podcast for the Podzone is here! Quite possibly bigger than a Yeti in an oversized Sumo suit.

The podcast this week contains such wicked features as-

The NEW Mystery Voice (the identity of whom I still don't know)
Nick's Bodily Noises
Silly Accents
Me cutting myself
Ska and Reggae- what's the difference?

Oh, and the Hit Test, Tech News, Traffic News and The Crucial Three!

Anyway this is The Podzone podcast that was broadcasted on 06/09/2006 - this show has been edited down to comply with Podcasting legislation, and to remove the parts where we seriously go wrong, so we look good.
